Have you ever felt that you are fighting a losing war against dust? You sweep, vacuum, wipe, but the dust always comes back. What if I told that there are secret piles of dust in your house that you have probably never cleaned?
The Dust Dilemma – What are you missing?
Dust is not just an eyesore, it can be a health risk. Dust is a cocktail of bacteria, viruses, dust mites and skin cells. It can cause allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems. Josh Mutlow is a senior designer at Dyson and says that many of us overlook the dust hotspots within our homes.
Dusting Data: Overlooked Areas
Mutlow found that many of us do not dust our ceilings and other surfaces such as mattresses, light fixtures on walls, baseboards in shelves, window coverings, pet beds, showers and houseplants. These spots not only collect dust, but also a whole eco-system of allergens.
The Dust Busting Strategy: How To Address the Problem
Mutlow recommends using a lightweight cordless vac with a crevice tool and a soft brush attachment to keep your home healthy and clean. If you suffer from dust allergies, you should vacuum your bedding and mattresses every month. Light fixtures and lampshades can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth and shelves should also be vacuumed.
A Healthy Home
In a world that places health as a priority, a clean house is not a luxury. It is a necessity. By focusing on these areas, you are not only fighting dust but also taking a stand to protect your family’s well-being.
A Cleaner Home is Awaiting
Dusting is not just a chore, it’s also a health intervention. By addressing these neglected areas, you transform your home into a sanctum of cleanliness and good health.
